Technical inquiry
Write the request so it can be checked.
A bearing inquiry is a description of a part and a duty. It is not a purchase order, and this website will not turn it into one.
The part
- Bearing designation if it can still be read.
- If not: bore, outside diameter, width, and a note of the cage, seal and clearance if you can see them.
- Say whether it is split, a housing, a slewing ring, a plain bearing, or a white-metal part.
- Name Schaeffler only when that brand is required. Otherwise leave the maker open.
The duty
- Machine, position on the vessel or in the plant, speed and load direction.
- Continuous running or short cycles. Shock, water, salt or a hazardous area.
- Lubricant in use today, including the name printed on the container.
- Any class, owner or OEM document the replacement must follow. FEX does not claim that approval.
Maintenance products
- For OPTIME or another monitor: machine type, speed, zone and who would install it.
- For a lubricator: number of points, grease grade, temperature and line length.
- For a tool or a manufacturer service: say tool only, or service as well. Service availability is a request.
