Spherical roller bearings
Self-aligning roller bearings for shafts that deflect or sit out of line.
Availability on inquiry
A spherical roller bearing carries high radial load and moderate axial load while the inner ring can run at an angle to the outer ring. That is why it appears on winch drums, conveyor pulleys, fans and shaft supports.
Schaeffler publishes this construction, including large special bearings. Publication WL 21 508 EA explains a pipe-lay reel application in which spherical roller bearings were selected because the supports had to accept hull motion and shaft deflection. That document is a manufacturer example. It is not an FEX supply record, and the dimensions in it are not a stock list.
Other manufacturers make spherical roller bearings as well. This page does not name them. If you need a stated brand, write it in the inquiry. If you do not, FEX will treat the request as open and will not invent a maker.
What to include
- Designation, or bore, outside diameter, width and cage.
- Clearance group and whether a tapered bore or adapter sleeve is used.
- Misalignment the housing must accept, and the lubricant in use.
