Deck machinery, winches and cranes
Rolling bearings, slewing bearings and plain bearings for mooring, cargo and lifting equipment.
Winches, windlasses and cranes combine slow, heavy turns with shock and weather. Spherical roller bearings are a frequent inquiry for drums and gearboxes. Slewing bearings are a frequent inquiry for crane rotation. Spherical plain bearings are a frequent inquiry for oscillating links.
A deck environment does not by itself select a seal, a coating or a grease. Salt, wash-down and standing loads need to be written into the inquiry. This catalogue does not assign an IP rating or a grease to “marine deck” as a class.
What to include
- Winch, crane or windlass model and the bearing position.
- Radial load, axial load and how often the duty cycles.
- Whether the bearing must come apart in place.
- Grease currently used, and any owner or class document the buyer must follow.
